A NORTH Yorkshire road has reopened after a serious crash led to its closure for most of Wednesday.
The accident happened on the B1248 into North Grimston, near Malton, this morning (Wednesday), and involved one car, North Yorkshire Police said. The road remained closed in both directions for much of the day.
The force's control room said diversions were in place via Langton Road from Norton although it's not suitable for HGVs.
The control room added: "Road will be closed for some time whilst we deal with the incident. Please avoid the area."
The force confirmed shortly before 6pm today that the road had reopened.
North Yorkshire Police earlier tweeted: "We are currently dealing with a serious single-vehicle collision on the B1248 at North Grimston. The road is closed from the Langton Road junction to Duggleby and likely to remain closed for an extended period of time so please avoid the area. Diversions are in place."
