FIREFIGHTERS have rescued a dog which fell down a storm drain at the side of York's River Foss and then couldn't get out.
North Yorkshire Fire & Rescue Service said a crew from Huntington went to the incident in Strensall at just after 9am today.
It said the large dog was approximately 8 feet down and its owner was unable to help it out.
"The crew used a triple extension ladder to access the drain and free the dog," it added.
