A TRACTOR relay that was due to take place this Sunday has been cancelled, organisers have confirmed.
The event, organised by young farmers clubs in Cumbria, is not taking place 'due to Eden currently being on the news as a potential hotspot for Covid-19'.
The relay would have seen tractors setting off from three locations - Broughton, Drigg, and Longtown - in the direction of Penrith Auction Mart, with the lead tractor in each team pulling a trailer carrying the messages 'protect our farming futures' and 'save Newton Rigg College'.
Organisers apologised for the short notice but said the event was being rescheduled and that they would be in touch at a later time regarding the new date.
