LANDSCAPE charity Friends of the Lake District was 'overwhelmed' by the number of images submitted to its 2020 photography competition.
This year’s event received a submission of 400 images featuring stunning images of the Lake District and Cumbria sent in by members of the public hoping to feature in its 2020 Christmas card collection and 2021 calendar.
With social-distancing measures in place for much of the competition period, the focus for submissions was placed on past visits to the Lake District National Park.
This did not dampen the enthusiasm for the competition with the quality and number of entries matching those of previous years; perhaps serving as a welcome opportunity for entrants to revisit images evoking that sense of beauty and freedom.
