YORK looks set to enjoy - or endure - another mini-heatwave towards the end of the week.

Forecasters believe another plume of very warm air will blow across the UK from the Continent, bringing temperatures of about 27C, or 80F to the city next Friday and Saturday.

That is considerably cooler than the 33C forecast for London next weekend, and it is also about 5 degrees cooler than the 32C, or 90F, reached in York on the hottest day of the year so far on Friday afternoon.
