The public is being encouraged to help kick-start the economy by dining out next month as a new government scheme begins.

In Basingstoke, the full list of restaurants, pubs and bars who have signed up to the Eat Out to Help Out scheme has been released. 

Diners can get up to 50 per cent off on food and non-alcoholic drinks when eating out in participating restaurants.

And there are many bargains to be had. At Nando's, those descending on its Festival Place branch will be able to enjoy a 1/4 Peri-Peri chicken meal with two sides for as little as £3.38.

When is the Eat Out to Help Out scheme starting and how will it work?

The Eat Out to Help Out will start on Monday, August 3.

The disctoun can be used as many times as diners like, but only up to £10 per person per meal. It can not be used for alcohol, although coffee shops such as Costa will apply the discount to hot drinks, if the customers opts to sit in.

This August you can play your part in supporting local businesses with the Eat Out To Help Out scheme. 

The scheme will be running every Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday between August 3 and August 31. It can be used as many times as diners like.

Food and drink will appear on the menu at full price and the restaurant will deduct the money off the bill and claim it back from the Government. Find out more here.
