POLICE say they have 'ramped up efforts' to trace missing man Max Smith who was last seen 12 days go.
The 22-year-old was reported missing from his home in Adelaide Court, Gateshead, on Tuesday, June 30.
Max is described as white, around 5ft 11in tall, of medium build and with short brown hair.
He was last seen at his home at 6.30pm on June 24, then later seen at just after 7pm outside of the Belle Vue pub on Durham Road, walking in the direction of the Angel of the North.
It is understood he was wearing a short, black North Face quilted jacket, a grey top, dark grey tracksuit bottoms and grey and white trainers.
Detective Superintendent Lyn Peart said: “We are becoming increasingly concerned for Max and our ramping up our efforts to find him.
"His family are very concerned and we are offering them support as we continue to piece together his movements.
“The area around Durham Road, where he is believed to have last been seen, is heavily residential.
"So we are also encouraging residents to check their gardens, outbuildings, sheds and any other places which may be hidden from general view.
“We have a significant number of resources out looking for Max in that area and that will continue throughout the day.
"Please help us by continuing to share our appeal.”
Anyone with information is asked to contact officers at Northumbria Police on 101 quoting log 715 30/06/20.
