A LLANDUDNO personal trainer has earned his stripes completing a 100km tour dressed as a tiger.

Jack Kelbrick, owner and trainer at Move & Burn Fitness on Council Street West, finished his 10 day challenge on Sunday, June 28 raising more than £1,600 for the Welsh Mountain Zoo.

Jack ran various routes in the area dressed as the tiger - his two year old nephew Leo's favourite animal - while friends, family and clients joined him dressed as penguins, frogs and even a Teletubby courtesy of girlfriend Samantha Rogers.

Jack, who turned 27 on Tuesday 30, said: "I’ve run the Conwy Half Marathon a few times, but never as much running as the past 10 days.

"The heat was the biggest struggle, in a fleece costume, not ideal, so when the rain and stormy weather game it was a bit of a blessing really."

Across the challenge, Jack completed various routes including the Orme, Llandudno, Conwy, Deganwy, Colwyn Bay, Penrhyn Bay, Rhos-on-Sea, Llanrhos, Craig-y-Don, Mochdre and ending in the zoo in Colwyn Heights

He added: "I’ve been overwhelmed by the support shown - my initial goal was £500 and we’ve almost reached £2,000.

"It makes me realise that the zoo means so much to so many local people as me and my family.

"Hopefully it’s given people a laugh seeing a tiger run around the local area too, during surreal times."
