MALTON and Norton golfer David Hague marked his return to action by finishing as the joint-winner at Cleckheaton Golf Club.
Golf has been one of the first sports to return following the coronavirus pandemic, which has brought sport around the country to a standstill.
With social distancing in place and neither caddies nor spectators allowed, the 2020protour Hopkins Classic saw live sport in Yorkshire - a rare sight at present.
114 professional and amateur players took part in the tournament, which featured both male and female competitors.
The field several high-profile stars including 2014 Ryder Cup winner Jamie Donaldson, twice senior major winner Paul Broadhurst and four-time professional winner and European Tour player Marcus Armitage.
But it was Hague who finished at the top of the leaderboard alongside one other challenger.
From the par-70 one-round shootout format, Hague posted a six-under-par score of 64, a total matched by Nick Poppleton from Wath Golf Club in Rotherham.
Only 25 players scored under par during the day’s play. As a result, the top prize fund was split, with Hague taking home approximately £1,450 in prize money.
