ORGANISERS of the Yorkshire Marathon in York say it is currently still scheduled to go ahead as planned, despite the coronavirus pandemic.
Officials from Jane Tomlinson's Run for All said they were responding after a number of people had contacted them to ask whether the road race, due to be staged on Sunday October 18, is still going ahead this year.
"We are monitoring the situation and looking at plans to safely host the event," they posted on the marathon's Facebook page.
"Like other events scheduled for around the same time, we are awaiting a Government update and reviewing all event options.
"Any updates regarding the event, should it be postponed, will be emailed to all entrants directly and an update posted on our website."
