A TEENAGER has raised more than £1,680 for NHS charities by riding along the A19 from York's Theatre Royal to his Easingwold home.

Rory Vince, 17, said he was cheered all the way by passing motorists and lorry drivers on his two-hour half marathon.

Once he reached Easingwold, residents came to their gates to cheer him on and friends ran alongside him.

“It was good," he said. "My adrenalin kicked in and everyone passing was beeping their horns or shouting out of their windows. I don’t know how hard it would have been without encouragement. That is what kept me going.”
