Building fire in Haxby spreads to woodland
FIREFIGHTERS tackled a blaze in Haxby last night (Tuesday).
Fire crews from Acomb and Huntington were called to reports of a large fire in a rear garden at about 9.40pm.
This turned out to be an outbuilding on fire in a wooded area that had spread to surrounding woodland, North Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service said.
Crews used two jets to put out the blaze.
