FIRE fighters tackled a blaze at a house in a York suburb.
Two fire engines and a police van attended a fire at a terraced house in Newborough Street in Clifton.
Smoke could be seen billowing from the upstairs window of a property and police cordoned off the entrances to Newborough Street and Bootham Green with residents gathering in the street.
The fire was put out and the cordon was lifted shortly after 4pm. No one is believed to have been injured in the incident. The cause of the fire is as yet unknown.
