The decision was take at Oswestry Town Council's meeting on Wednesday, with a start date confirmed on Thursday morning for both the outdoor and indoor markets.
The market, which is on the Bailey Head, will be back on June 3.
A council spokesman said: "Our markets may be down but they are definitely not out.

"Our markets will be 'COVID-safe' outlining the measures.
"Our indoor market will also fully open to the public on Wednesday, June 17. All we ask is that you stay safe and keep your distance while browsing.
