Fire crews tackle large blaze close to York road
Firefighters tackled a blaze by the A59 in York yesterday (Wednesday).
Crews from Acomb were called out to what Station Manager Tony Walker described on Twitter as a “large fire in the open air”.
He added: "The smoke from the fire is drifting on to the A59 so it was important to get in extinguished as soon as possible."
The road remained open during the incident.
