Gusts of up to 55mph are likely in exposed parts of North Yorkshire
STRONG winds are forecast across York and North Yorkshire today and tomorrow, with gusts of up to 55mph on the coast.
Forecasters say gusts could reach 45mph or more in York this afternoon and tomorrow.
However, there will also be sunny spells on both days, and temperatures could rise to 19C today and 16C tomorrow.
The winds will begin to die down on Sunday, but it will be cloudier and it is only on Spring Bank Holiday Monday that York will see a return to warm sunshine and gentle breezes, with fine weather expected for the whole of next week.
