TWO book fairs have joined forces to ensure that book lovers don't miss out because of the pandemic.

The York National Book Fair scheduled for September 2020 has been moved to January 15 and 16 when it will be combined with the 2021 York One-Day Book Fair.

Both events attract booksellers from across the country and are normally held at York Racecourse.

The national book fair is also hoping to run as normal in September 2021.

Janette Ray of the national book fair said: "Of course, this is all predicated on government restrictions allowing a mass gathering in January and will certainly be subject to a revised lay-out to accommodate social distancing regulations within the venue.

"We will let you all know, as soon as we do."
