TWO men have been arrested on suspicion of attempted burglary at a York retail unit after a police pursuit early today.
North Yorkshire Police said that shortly after midnight, officers responded to reports of a suspected break in attempt at a retail unit at Clifton Moor.
"Two vehicles were spotted leaving the scene which officers followed and brought to a stop," said a spokesman.
"One driver, a 28-year-old man from Selby, was arrested on suspicion of attempted burglary, possessing an offensive weapon in a public place and possession of a class A drug.
"The second driver, a 27 year old man from Wakefield was arrested on suspicion of attempted burglary and possession of a class A drug."
He added that both men remained in police custody.
A police tweet suggested the firearms unit and dog section was involved in the incident.
