NEIGHBOURS in York have chosen to come together to show their support for the NHS through the coronavirus pandemic.

The Dixon and Thompson families, who live in Fossway have decorated the outside of their homes with rainbow colours.

Adele Dixon, 28, said: “We wanted to do our bit to show support for the NHS heroes working through these difficult times.”

The decorations were created with chalk over the course of two days, starting on Wednesday.

They have coloured over the bricks on their home, as well as the ground.

The two families, who live directly next door to each other, have chosen to isolate together to “keep themselves and their children sane.”

This allows the children to continue to play together and allows the adults to keep in contact.

Adele lives with her two children, while Tracy Thompson lives with her husband and three children.

Neither Adele or Tracy and her husband are able to go to work through the lock down period.
