HUNDREDS of children from more than 30 schools in and around York will be helping celebrate World Earth Day tomorrow.
April 22 is the 50th anniversary of World Earth Day and since January WorkwithSchools, a specialist supply teaching agency in York, has been working with schools to mark the occasion.
Although some schools have been unable to complete entries so far for their World Earth Day competition, WorkwithSchools has put together a variety of interesting and engaging resources, free to all and differentiated by primary year group with an environmental theme at the core which can just as easily be used by parents teaching children at home.
Ellis Campbell, School’s Education Recruitment Consultant said: “We know that everyone wants to do something to support key workers at the moment.
"Our teachers are continuing to work on the front line to care for key workers’ children and we are delighted to do anything we can to support them. Parents and carers are doing a fantastic job keeping children at home and occupied and the resources we have put together are aimed at keeping children busy with the World Earth Day theme in mind”.
World Earth Day on April 22 is a global day to demonstrate support for environmental protection.
