FIREFIGHTERS have rescued a man from the River Foss in York.
North Yorkshire Fire & Rescue Service said crews from York, Huntington and Acomb were involved in the rescue at just before 7pm yesterday.
A spokesperson said the man was believed to have been 'sitting in the river and the crews pulled him out.'
They added that the man was taken to hospital for a precautionary check-up.
