Recently the government has been suggesting that we might approach the peak of this pandemic soon, perhaps within weeks. Understandably this is a little vague: a frustration to many. I am one of many who are pacing the floor like a caged tiger! But I cheerfully abide by the rules in respect of the brave NHS staff who are on the front line keeping us safe. My thoughts here are simple: what is the exit strategy when the dawn breaks and our release to freedom is realised?
Paramount I feel will be a token of respect to all who have given their lives in the name of duty. When I served my country, I was given a medal which I proudly treasure. I think the same should apply to our front liners of today, who have displayed extreme courage. Medals are a way the nation can display its gratitude to the few who have saved the many.
