What a quaint, almost idyllic picture your columnist Emma Clayton paints of virtually silent electric milk floats trundling down the road of a morning (Self-isolation is good news for doorstep pinta, March 26).

The reality is that today your milk is more likely to be delivered by a very eco-unfriendly diesel-powered vehicle, making enough noise to wake the whole neighbourhood up at some god-forsaken hour of the morning.

This could be coming soon to a house near you, Emma.
