THE Archbishop of York prayed through the night for Boris Johnson after it emerged that the Prime Minister had gone into intensive care as he battles the coronavirus.
A spokeswoman said Dr John Sentamu prayed through the night for the Prime Minister and was continuing to hold him and all afflicted with Covid-19 in his prayers.
Asked if the Archbishop had stayed awake all night, she said his typical pattern of prayer was to pray on the hour every hour.
Dr Sentamu has tweeted:"I lit a candle at the end of my prayers and fasting on the National Day of Prayer. I have just lit another one and prayed Psalm 25:The Psalmist pleading for Defence & Deliverance from Affliction. It’s my prayer for all afflicted with Covid-19 -especially PM Boris Johnson.Lord HEAL."
