A NORTH Yorkshire computing company held a fundraiser event last month to raise money to donate to a hospice charity.
Staff at Swinton Technology Ltd, located in Malton, organised the ‘Purple for Patient Care Day’, where staff all came to work wearing something purple.
They managed to raise £76.50, which was donated to Saint Catherine’s Hospice and will all go towards looking after patients both in the hospice and in their own homes.
Danielle Carlisle, marketing coordinator at Swinton Technology Ltd, said: “We have chosen to raise money for Saint Catherine’s because of all of the wonderful work they do for people in our local area.
“The care that Saint Catherine’s staff and volunteers give to people is such a valuable thing and we encourage anyone who is reading this to donate.”
Sian Cromack, hospice fundraiser, said: “A huge thank you to everyone at Swinton Technology Ltd for their fantastic support and enthusiasm.”
Saint Catherine’s provides a number of services locally in Ryedale, such as community nurse specialists, care homes support, bereavement support and an out-of-hours telephone service.
