One tourist attraction in York is continuing to operate - with precautions.

City Cruises York, is running most of its sightseeing boat trips on the River Ouse.

But it has cut back substantially on its Lunch Cruises and will not operate its Evening Dinner cruises in April and May.

Their two-deck boats have open top decks where passengers can keep at a distance from each other, it has installed extra hygiene measures and anyone boarding is to be asked to wash their hands immediately.

It is also continuing to operate the Red Boat fleet of self drive motorboats that people can rent for a period.

The company is warning anyone who could be infected with coronavirus, or is showing symptoms similar to coronavirus, or who has been in contact with someone with the illness that they will not be welcome aboard and they should not go to the quays.

The company is revising its schedule on a daily basis. It operates cruises with onboard commentaries from Kings Staithe in the city centre to Clifton Bridge and Bishopthorpe.
