TO mark its 35th anniversary, a North Yorkshire Hospice has teamed up with York Gin to create a special edition product.
St Leonard’s Hospice will mark the occasion with 350 bottles of the special gin at 70 centilitres each.
Each bottle will be priced at £35, £3.50 of which will be donated back to St Leonard’s.
The bottles - with specially-designed labels - are actually £1 cheaper than the normal York Gin price, so they are expected to be snapped up very quickly.
Marissa Stephenson-Stewart, fundraising manager at St Leonard’s Hospice, said: “We are delighted to be working with York Gin, a brand that has become iconic in York.”
York Gin makes all of its award-winning spirits in Acaster Malbis, just 2.5 miles from the St Leonard’s Hospice.
York Gin co-founder Pete McNichol said: “We have seen at first hand the amazing and inspiring work St Leonard’s does every single day of the year.
“When they approached us with the idea of the 35th birthday gin, we didn’t give it a second thought.”
The special edition gin bottles will be available from the York Gin shop in Pavement from Thursday (March 19).
St Leonard’s Hospice was officially opened on June 1 1985.
