TICKETS are on sale for York Professionals’ Casino Royal-themed annual dinner.

Guests will be invited to channel their inner 007, take to the roulette tables to raise money for St Leonard’s Hospice and hear from motivational speaker Steven Robinson.

Steven who came from a poor background and was bullied through school lost his right arm in a motocross accident at the age of 18.

Through resilience, he rebuilt his life, overcoming obstacles on the way, and changed his attitude to life.

Steven said: “I feel really privileged to be invited to speak at the York Professionals Annual Dinner. My journey in life started out like every other but a life changing event turned everything upside down and shook me to the core. I rebuilt my life as a result and through resilience crafted a varied, interesting and challenging career. And if I can do it, anyone can. I look forward to sharing my story.”

The black-tie event is ‪on Wednesday, May 20 and is raising funds for York Professionals member Dale Bartleson who will be walking the walls of China in support of the hospice. Funds will be raised on the night through donations from local businesses for tombola prizes ranging from afternoon tea, attraction tickets, gift vouchers and free professional business services.

Chair of York Professionals, Michelle Mook said: “We are excited to welcome Steven and delighted to be supporting St Leonard’s Hospice this year. Our Casino Royale theme is set to get everyone shaken not stirred and presents a fantastic opportunity for professionals to network and celebrate with colleagues, contacts and clients. We hope you will join us!”

The event, sponsored by Benenden Health, Edge45® and Garbutt + Elliott, is open to members and non-members.
