York City and Knights supporters should be concerned about the state of the ladies and gents toilets at Bootham Crescent. They are no longer fit for purpose: a concern during the current virus scare.
I have been a City supporter since 1946 and the gents toilet under the main stand has never been decorated in that time. Being a season ticket holder I have had to miss games this season due to their disgusting state.
How much longer will we have to wait for the new stadium, which we are constantly being told will be the finest outside the football league? If it is not opened soon I can see the football league closing Bootham Crescent, leaving both York City and the Knights with no home. I urge City of York Council to finalise this ongoing saga as quickly as possible. It would help if the project manager explained the real reasons for the delay.
The toilets at the new ground may themselves need redecorating before it finally opens. However, the council has demonstrated some urgency - over the painting of double yellow lines to prevent people from parking within reasonable walking distance.
