A POLICE officer rescued a cheeky little monkey who escaped from the jungle to the M62.

PC Martin Willis - who goes by the nickname "Motorway Martin" on Twitter - found the damaged teddy on the motorway, ripped up and covered in muck.

Bradford Telegraph and Argus:

Motorway Martin was tempted to adopt him as a lucky motorway mascot while others suggested he keep the monkey to calm children in stressful crashes or road incidents.

The animal toy has found a new home in a tree just off the M62, while he watches over the road.

Motorway Martin is now asking for name ideas with Nutella, Mike and Marvin currently in the running. But what do you think?
