The man who died in a flat fire in Colwyn Bay, last week has been named. Christopher Andrew Gargill was named as the victim in the blaze.
Three fire crews from Colwyn Bay, Abergele and Llandudno were called
to the incident, at Greenfield Road on Tuesday January 7 and remained on scene until 4pm.
North Wales Police officers were also in attendance assisting the three fire crews, and closed off Greenfield Road in both directions as well as
Erskine Road.
The other flats in the building when the fire alarm sounded on January 7 but firefighters found 52-year-old Mr Gaskill’s body in his first-floor living-room.
He was identified by his tattoos and documents.
At the opening of an inquest in Ruthin John Gittins, coroner for North Wales East and Central, on Tuesday said it was understood that the fire was caused by a cigarette.
The inquest was adjourned to a date to be fixed for toxicology tests to be carried out.
