The first Brexiteer? General Charles de Gaulle
I see M Macron wants to give the City of London the Legion of Honour for homing General De Gaulle during the war.
What a brilliant idea: De Gaulle was the first Brexiteer, wanting to block our entry to the EU.
A cynic might say that Macron was trying to make up for being so anti-British and unco-operative during EU negotiations. If Mr Johnson were still Mayor he would know the proper response to the notion.
