SANTA Claus and his merry band of pub crawlers have been blessed with another season of goodwill from punters in Rhyl.

Returning for its fifth year the event, which seeks donations for Flintshire charity North Wales Superkids, received £412 pounds and 200 toys from merrymakers in eight of the town's pubs.

Across the charity's 2019 campaign, it's estimated more than 1,700 children will receive gifts this Christmas. Significant contributions have been given by pupils of Rhyl school Ysgol Bryn Heddyd and Ysgol y Foryd in Kinmel Bay, as well as staff at RAF Valley, Anglesey.

Richard Kendrick, who dressed as Santa for the crawl, said:"We'd like to say a big thanks the publicans and shop keepers for allowing us in on the crawl and big thanks to everyone who donated cash or toys."

Alongside Mr Kendrick, another 14 costumed fundraisers joined the event on Saturday, December 7, calling in at shops and The Lorne, The Ffordd Derwen, the Cob and Pen, the Swan, the Six Bells, The North, The George Hotel, the Cove, The Bodfor and Wetherspoon's pubs.
