BLACKBURN Market has gained four new permanent traders.

They joined the 20 stalls already offering food and drink in recent weeks.

The Cake Away features a different selection of cakes and cupcakes each day.

AromAmoré offers a range of hand-pressed coffees and comfort food too.

The stall offers super-long steamed hot-dog rolls, filled with a choice of Wild Boar sausage, Bratwurst or Frankfurter.

The market has also welcomed a new Chinese food stall.

Owner Wing Woo said: “We have only been open for a few days and we’ve been overwhelmed with the reaction from customers. We’re so pleased. It’s really busy!”

The Bake Room featuring homemade cakes, cupcakes and speciality, chocolate truffles has also opened in the Church Street retail hub.

Blackburn Market is also hosting pop-up stalls in a specially-created a new indoor scaffolding ‘street-trading.

There will be a ‘Twilight Market’ on Thursday evening.

It is open on Sundays up to Christmas.

Martin Kelly, director of growth and development at Blackburn with Darwen Council said: “It is great that we are seeing an increase in the number of stalls opening on the market and the level of enquiries we are receiving increasing too. We have a packed programme of events in the market this Christmas and these new independent businesses are a welcome addition to the town’s shopping experience.”
