THREE people have been arrested following a series of store robberies.

The males, aged 29, 24 and 14, are all from the local area.

The arrests come after numerous commercial premises were targeted in the area including the One Stop Shop on Grange Road, Rhyl, where a staff member was threatened with a weapon.

In the last few weeks, the Best-One Shop and Post Office on St Margaret’s Drive has also been targeted as well as the Co-Op on Ffordd Elen and Corbetts betting shop on Cefndy Road.

Police have not said what incidents the males are being questioned over.

Andrew Williams, Denbighshire Chief Inspector, said: “The three arrested are currently in custody at St Asaph and will be interviewed by detectives later. A significant amount of work continues by officers dedicated to the investigation.”

“I am particularly grateful to the local community of Rhyl for the information they have given us to date. However, I am still appealing for anyone who may have any information to come forward either in person or anonymously via Crimestoppers.

“We have increased patrols in the town over the coming period to provide the public with reassurance.”

Anyone with information is asked to telephone 101.
