A COMMUNITY space will be holding an open day next month to show the work it has done.

Open Space Studios CIC has moved into the space of the old library and is inviting members of the community along to the creative studio Open Day on Saturday, December 14 from 12noon to 3pm.

Chloe Yeomans has been working on the vision since June 2017, becoming a community interest company in 2018, with a vision to transform the empty space at the library into a vibrant creative hub through a community asset transfer by Shropshire Council.

However, the group has obtained a five-year year commercial lease, working towards a full asset transfer.

She said: “It has been a long and challenging process getting to this stage but I am determined to provide Oswestry with a creative space that gives back.

“We are current looking for any support from the community to make this project a success.

“Our aim is to use the creative arts as a platform for inspiring, motivating and encouraging all of the community to lead happy and healthy lifestyles.”

Open Space promote activities such as open sensory sessions, while their facilities are also available for affordable hire.
