Police are dealing with a serious accident on the A59
POLICE are at the scene after a serious accident on the A59 this morning (Monday).
The road is currently closed between Knaresborough and the A1 and motorists are are being advised to avoid the area.
North Yorkshire Police Tweeted: "We're currently at the scene of a serious collision on the A59 between Knaresborough and A1. The road is likely to be closed for sometime.
"Please avoid the area whilst emergency services respond. Motorists are advised to find alternative routes."
