WATCHING D-Day celebrations in France made one proud to be British. Heroic veterans displaying pride, modesty, a lasting devotion to fallen comrades, coupled with a commitment to duty even in their dotage.
How poignant that many of today’s political leaders fail to live up to these high standards; their shallowness of character, egotism, disingenuous utterings, undermining everything these wonderful veterans set out to achieve.
