A NEIGHBOUR has rescued a family dog after fire broke out at a house in York.
Fire crews from York and Huntington went to the blaze in Huntington at 9pm last night.
North Yorkshire Fire & Rescue Service said the crews extinguished the fire using two hoses, a door breaker, breathing apparatus and positive pressure ventilation.
"The fire originated upstairs causing 50 per cent fire damage to the room and smoke damage to the house," said a spokesperson.
"A neighbour rescued the family dog as the occupant were out at the time. The cause is believed to be an electrical fault."
