A GARDEN that won a gold medal at the recent Harrogate Flower Show has sprung up in the heart of York’s city centre.
The installation, entitled ‘In Sight of the Minster’, has been recreated by students from Askham Bryan College in the Coppergate Centre.
The garden is part of Make it York’s Bloom! festival this summer, to celebrate the city’s rich tradition of horticulture.
The green-fingered creation is inspired by features of York Minster, including flying buttresses to support the trees, ‘walls’ made from yew hedging and an arched window frame.
