YORK-based property developer S Harrison is celebrating success at the Variety Yorkshire Property Awards.

The Bishopthorpe Road firm has won the Yorkshire Pride Award for its ongoing transformation of historic Buchan House in Edinburgh, which is being turned into a Malmaison hotel.

Development director, David Clancy, said: "Our development guarantees the sustainable future of an important part of Edinburgh's heritage in a prominent New Town location.

"To be recognised for our endeavours with such a prestigious award is very rewarding."

The annual ceremony, at Harrogate's Rudding Park Hotel, raised funds for Variety, to support children in the region who are sick, disabled or disadvantaged.
