A CYCLIST was taken to hospital after an alleged "hit and run" crash in York yesterday evening (May 16).
The cyclist was involved in a collision with a car at the junction of Beckfield Lane and Norman Drive in Acomb at around 6.50pm.
@PC41_NYP wrote on Twitter: "This evening attended a hit and run RTC between a car and cyclist.
"The car involved described only as silver made off leaving the cyclist at scene.
"Cyclist taken to hospital with a possible sprain." The PC said an investigation has begun to identify the driver.
Anyone who saw what happened or who knows the driver responsible should call North Yorkshire Police on 101. The incident number is 12190088224.
