RACEGOERS were treated to another glorious day in the sun at York races on Thursday.
More than 12,000 racing enthusiasts turned out to watch the favourite, Too Darn Hot, ridden by Frankie Dettori, narrowly miss out on first place as Telecaster took home the Dante Stakes.
Spokesman for the racecourse James Brennan said racegoers had been blessed with sunshine and the atmosphere was great.
He said: “Today has been a fantastic day and the weather certainly prevailed as a lot of people were out on the lawn enjoying the sunshine."
Looking forward to Friday’s meeting - the final day of the Dante Racing Festival - James added that racegoers can expect another action-packed day.
He said: “We expect another good turn out today to see the legend Stradivarius in action.”
