A GRADE II-listed hotel in York is celebrating the latest stage of its ongoing renovation.

The Grange Hotel in Bootham has 41 individually-designed rooms, a 2 AA Rosette-winning restaurant and is now offering flower arranging workshops and gin masterclasses to visitors.

The refurbishment has seen the creation of four new ground floor rooms, the development of the hotel’s vaulted cellars into The Ivy Brasserie, and the installation of lifts to ensure better accessibility to all floors.

Rooms have been individually designed by the hotel’s co-owner Vivien Cassel, from classic country house bedrooms with four-poster beds to more contemporary designs and underfloor heating in the bathrooms.

Owner Jeremy Cassel said: "The refurbishment at The Grange has been an ongoing project over the past three years, 2019 has seen finishing touches completed in some areas of the hotel whilst others are still ongoing."

The hotel has also been shortlisted for the 2019 York Design Awards, celebrating the heritage of buildings in the city, which will be announced at a later date.
