BEER and cider lovers will be in for a treat when a popular local festival returns next month.
The ninth Poppleton Beer Festival will be held on June 14 and 15 at Poppleton Junior Football Club in Millfield Lane.
Organisers expect hundreds of guests to join them for the fundraising festival, which supports more than 400 junior footballers.
The festivals gates will open from 4pm to 11pm on Friday, and from midday to 11pm on Saturday, allowing visitors to spend the day sampling 57 local beers and ciders, including Yorkshire Blonde, Brew York Brew York and Honeysuckle Smash.
There will be live music from bands such as Branded by Fire and Steamtown to entertain the crowds, while those with a taste for Pimms and Prosecco will be able to enjoy the beverages from a dedicated tent.
The festival has also become well recognised for its wide range of food and refreshments.
For the fourth year in a row, York-based legal firm, Hethertons Solicitors, has been announced as a sponsor of the festival.
Hethertons has sponsored a barrel at the festival since 2016.
