A CRASH has shut the B1224 York to Wetherby road about a mile from Wetherby racecourse.
The incident is believed to have happened at about 9.30am and police are currently at the scene.
In a statement, North Yorkshire Police said: "We’re currently at the scene of a two-vehicle collision on Springs Lane at Bickerton. It was reported to us at 9.31am.
"One driver was trapped but is now being transported to Harrogate District Hospital. Injuries unknown but not believed to be serious.
"The driver of the other vehicle is also being taken to the same hospital with a minor injury as a precaution.
"The Road is blocked. Delays likely, please avoid the area whilst emergency services respond."
Tom Holland, who called in from close to the scene, said: "The road is blocked in both directions about a mile from Wetherby racecourse. It's hard to see what's happened, but traffic's at a complete standstill."
