ENJOY the warm sunshine while you can - it's not likely to last beyond Thursday.

Temperatures soared towards 20C in the York area yesterday as high pressure over the North Sea brought balmy southerly winds to the region.

It will be sunny again today and tomorrow, and possibly even a little warmer, but it will turn cloudier, cooler and breezier from Thursday onwards as the high moves northwards, causing cooler easterly winds.

There could be showers by Friday and maximum temperatures are expected to fall to about 14C by the weekend.
