GREEN-FINGERED fundraisers of the NSPCC’s Dunnington branch are once again kindly opening up their 'hidden gardens' to the public to raise funds for the children’s charity.

Every two years, members and supporters of the Dunnington NSPCC Fundraising Committee open up their private gardens to members of the public to showcase their own personal oases all in the name of charity.

The event is taking place on May 19 between 1pm and 5pm. Tickets with tour maps of the beautifully presented gardens will be available from the Reading Rooms in Dunnington. There will be also be a raffle and plant stall from a Chelsea Gold Medal winning nursery at the Reading Rooms too.

Kay Federico, chair of Dunnington NSPCC Volunteer Fundraising Committee, said “I would urge everyone to snap up a ticket for what promises to be an enjoyable afternoon tour of some wonderful gardens. I always find that the best ideas for my own garden come from sharing others’ unique takes on what works and doesn’t work in a garden.

“The event is always very popular and can be taken at your own pace, I just hope the weather is with us this year.”

Tickets are available, on May 19 at The Reading Rooms, Church Street, Dunnington from 1pm to 5pm and are £4 with children free.
