‘FUTURE of Fibbers in doubt after site is sold’ (The Press, May 4) was the headline and the article says that the building will be demolished for another hotel to be built.
In the same Press is the story “Shop to be turned into a new cafe”. Does York really need another hotel and cafe?
Is there not enough for the tourists already?
Who is to say that in the future when York is mentioned people will say, “Oh yes, that is the city with lots of history, hotels, cafes and restaurants, but sadly no shops”.
