CITY Screen, York invites dog owners to bring their pets to a dog-friendly screening of Pick Of The Litter (PG) on Sunday at 10.30am.
Dana Nachman and Don Hardy's documentary follows a litter of puppies from birth to beginning their quest to become guide dogs for the blind. Cameras follow them through an intense two-year odyssey as they train to be responsible for protecting their blind partners from harm. Along the way, these remarkable animals rely on a community of dedicated trainers; the stakes are high; only the pick of the litter will make the cut.
City Screen marketing manager Dave Taylor says: "We're happy for customers to bring their well-behaved dogs to this special dog-friendly screening, and you're welcome without a dog too.
"City Screen will provide owners with a fleece blanket to cover the seat used by the dog or to use as a rug if the dog sits on the floor. During the screening, we'll provide bowls of water in the auditorium. We'll leave lighting levels a little higher than usual and lower the volume of the soundtrack."
Tickets are on sale on 0871 902 5747, at picturehouses.com or from the box office.
